From a Beer-Fueled Idea to 20,000+ Customers

The Story Behind UiCore

I’m Andrei, co-founder of UiCore.

Most days, I write code. Not blog posts. But this story has been sitting with me for a while, and it felt like the right moment to share it.

Because UiCore didn’t start with a big vision deck, funding, or a perfect plan.
It started with a failed project, a couple of beers, and a pretty unrealistic idea.

It Started in 2018. On a Random Evening.

Back in 2018, Gabriel and I were at his place, having beers and talking about what went wrong with the last project we worked on.

We’d known each other for about a year. The project was done. It didn’t work out. And we were both trying to figure out what was next.

At the time, Gabriel was deep into Elementor. It was exploding in the WordPress world. I, on the other hand, had just started learning how to code. Like… really just started.

Then he said it.

“We should build something better than Elementor.”

I laughed.
Not because it was funny.
Because it was insane.

I could barely write a function.

So I pushed back with something smaller. Something that felt possible.

“What if we build a theme framework first? Something that adds all the things we wish existed. And then we use it to create unlimited themes.”

That idea stuck.

The First Real Build

We got to work.

A year later, we had our first real result. A framework. Templates. A theme built on top of it.

We launched it on ThemeForest under the name Brisk.

And… it flopped.

ThemeForest was already losing momentum. We were unknown. And the sales reflected that reality.

It was discouraging. But we didn’t quit.

We Kept Building Anyway

Instead of chasing quick wins, we focused on what mattered.

We kept improving the framework.
We kept answering support tickets.
We kept listening to the few customers we had.

Slowly, things started to click.

The framework became more solid. We built our own complete widget set for Elementor. And at some point, we realized something important.

We were ready for more.

October 2023: UiCore PRO

In October 2023, we launched UiCore PRO.

This time, things were different.

Agencies and freelancers started using it. Word spread. Momentum showed up in a way we hadn’t seen before.

For the first time, it felt like the idea we joked about years ago might actually be possible.

August 2024: The Crazy Idea Comes Back

By August 2024, that original beer-fueled dream came full circle.

We started working on UiCore Blocks.

A block-based builder. Built our way. Focused on performance, flexibility, and real-world workflows.

Six years after joking about building something better than Elementor, we were actually doing it.

Where We Are Today

Today, UiCore is used by over 20,000 customers.

Last year, we released our block-based builder. And yes, I’m biased, but I genuinely believe it stands up to builders that have been around for twice as long.

Right now, we’re racing to bring all 130+ ready-made sites to Blocks.

It’s been a long journey. And honestly, it still feels unreal sometimes.

We’re doubling down on the details that make your work stand out.

Better features.
A smoother experience.
Faster fixes when things break.

We’re also investing more into documentation, videos, and practical tips so it’s easier to keep up with everything we’re building.

But more than anything, we want to stay close to the people who actually use UiCore.

2025 taught us how important real connection is. That’s why we created a Facebook group where we can share updates, get feedback, and build UiCore together. There’s also a small surprise waiting inside.
